Fall Run 2006

Wow a year later. I wish we could have had more entries last year, but the hurricanes really screwd up the season. Even after the Hurricanes of 2005, the run and season were mediocre at best. This year with El Nino in full swing, the runs a little better. We've had a warm October and most of the action has been north of Miami in Broward and the Palm Beaches. We've had only one real significant cool front come in. After that pushed through, the Bluefish were in numbers in Palm Beach, and was as good as I've seen it in many years. The key really is the N or NE winds and if there's a good current pushing the baitfish down.

This morning I ventured out by the surf in Sunny Isles after the morning rains. The wind was calm for the most part and made fishing tough. Just a few small jacks and 1 moonfish on fly. Fishy, but it was peanut fishing without the good wind and current. Mainly SE wind, just a very light light chops. Next front is due this weekend. With the Full Moon approaching and good tides, I expect next week to really rock.
